Wow, what a blogger fail I have been! I have to say that since having kid #3 just about 2 years ago, everything seemed to double as far as what needed to get done and I didn't double, so some things have had to slip to the background and unfortunately blogging was one of them! I want to do a better job at keeping up with my blog! Here I go!

Well, I guess I will just sort of recap on some things that happened in 2011...specifically toward the end since that is especially when I got bad at blogging! Both of the girls are in school, so that gives 3 days a week for just Z and I to hang out!

The fall was SOOOO busy for my photography business! It was awesome! I have a feeling that will always be the busiest time of year for me. I am coming up on a year in my photography business, how exciting!

Josh and I attended a class held at our church called, The Renovation of the Heart. It was an amazing class, life changing. I learned a lot about myself, as well as a lot about the Lord. I think the main thing that changed my life was actually coming to understand the Lord's love.

We went to a cabin in OK with the Brock's for Thanksgiving, it was fun and relaxing! NOTHING to do, it was great!

My family came for a visit around Christmas time, it is always good to have them here! While they were here, we did some family photos...I will put those in the next post!

Right now, I guess the main thing going on is trying to fix up our house to sell it. We have felt the Lord calling us to move for over a year now and have just been trying to be patient in waiting on the Lord's timing. We both feel the time is coming soon! It is such a project to fix things in a house built in the 50's! We were trying to fix the shower head in the girls bathroom so we would have one to use while we gutted our bathroom and it resulted in a bathroom gut of the guest bath...crazy! Apparently they built houses with concrete walls back in the 50's, so to get to anything behind the wall, you had to demo through the concrete...it was a mess!

First of all, wow, do I ever get the award for worst blogger ever! 1 blog post in June...sad. What can I say, I'm busy! Anyways, I want to tell a little story about Riley!

The girls are going to a VBS this week. They missed the first day (yesterday) because they had to go to the dentist, so today was their first day. They had some sort of competition going on between the girls and boys for how many of the girls or boys could bring money to donate to help some babies to get diapers (sorry the description is so vague...I obviously don't really know the details!). Anyways, it was a girls against boys competition! The girls won. Riley came home from VBS this was our conversation
Riley: "I'm sad the boys didn't win."
Me: "Why?"
Riley: "Because a lot of the boys were sad that they didn't win."
Me: "Well, the girls won, does that make you happy?"
Riley: "No, because the boys were sad."

She has the sweetest heart! Winning wasn't even the object here to her, happiness was! I hope I can foster this character in her, I love it!

I took the kids out last week and took some photos of them! I realized that I spend so much time doing photos of other people, my family had been lacking for a bit! It was long overdue...now if I can just get the pictures in our house updated! I don't have any of Zeke anywhere and the most recent ones of the girls are from when they were 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old! Oops!

These are just some random pictures of Josh and I! I am usually blogging about the kids, so I thought it would be nice to add us in there a little bit! I don't have many photos of me, seeing as I am usually the one behind the camera! Josh and I are coming up on our 6 year anniversary in June! We are celebrating in Austin with a 2 night getaway! I can't wait, I am so excited! We haven't been able to go anywhere just the 2 of us (no nursing baby, no pregnant belly) since our honeymoon!!!!

Aydia turns 4!

My sweet, goofy Aydia turned 4 on April 5! I can't believe how big she is! On her 4th birthday, and every since then, she has grown up so much. Apparently, she thought that since she was now 4, she can do all the things Riley did when she was 4! It is funny how her brain works, but she has been more independent and ok with doing things for herself that we knew even at 3 she could! For her birthday, we went to the Zoo (that will be a post all in itself, so no pictures here yet!), went to get their bikes that Grammy and Ola sent money for, and went to Red Robin for dinner, per her request! It was a fun day!

A much overdue update!

Wow, blogging sure has taken a back seat since Z was born! Since he was born, I am finding it difficult to stay on top of everything there is for me to do, you know, feed the kids, bathe the kids, bathe and feed myself, cook meals, make lunch for RIley, get Riley to and from school, laundry, feed the puppy, take the puppy out to potty, clean the house, grocery shop, be a wife, be a friend, be missional, start a photography business...ahhhh! I can't keep up!

Well, this month, I have had several photo shoots! It has been really fun! I like the work I am doing, I am just hoping that other people are as well! It is really great to have an outlet that is just for me!

We have also, attended the St. Patty's day parade in which Josh was playing in. That was a crazy, green, sea of drunken people...I will never take my kids without help again. When we first got there, one of the little boys we were with got lost and the rest of the time I was super paranoid about my kids getting lost or stolen. It was just craziness. We attended several birthday parties. Riley had spring break, it was nice to have a week of not having to plan my days around taking her and picking her up from school! Next fall, it doubles, since I will have Aydia in school too!

Zeke has started walking. It is the cutest thing!

Photography Business

I have really exciting news! I have started a photography business! I have always liked taking pictures. I love being able to capture those special times and moments and have them to look at forever. I generally always brought my camera with me everywhere, I wanted to be able to capture things for my kids to be able to look back at and see these moments from their childhood. I started taking pictures of friends kids birthday parties and giving them copies of them, even taking some family pictures for friends, as well as our own. I did't really realize how much I liked photography until recently when I was searching for something that I love to do that could be sort of an outlet for me. I love my kids, but I just felt a need to have something of my own! After a few months of pondering this, I realized how often I was on the computer looking at photography blogs and websites and how excited I would get when I saw a photograph that I loved! I suddenly realized that I would love to be a photographer and I think I could actually be good at it! I took a photography class that really gave me the final push I needed to go ahead and go for it! I am so excited to venture on into this journey! After I made the decision to start my business, I have had a great number of people book photo shoots with me, as well as had a great opportunity to work with a professional photographer for a day! I really feel the Lord's hand in this and am so thankful he showed me something that I love and something that can be mine! Aydia! She is almost 4 years old! She is very creative and artsy. She is very cautious and gets scared easily. She likes people to help her do things, although, she is becoming a little bit more independent. She loves to play pretend. She is a really good sister! She loves to sing songs, all the time, about anything! She tells us that she loves us a lot! She loves to cut paper! She loves to put on chapstick and look at herself in the mirror! She is so sweet! We love her so much!

Riley is almost 5 years old! She is in preschool and loves it! She is a great student and a great helper to her teacher! She has the sweetest heart. She is a people pleaser! She doesn't like upsetting or hurting anyone and gets quite emotional if she does. She is a wonderful big sister, very caring and nurturing! She loves watching movies, playing pretend, she has an incredible imagination! She loves to dress up. She is starting to be modest and closes the door when she goes to the bathroom or changes her clothes. She is pretty independent in the sense that she can get things for herself and doesn't need or want much help. She loves to be around people, she is very social. Her best friend is a sweet little girl from school named Kennedy, there is a picture of them together below! I am so thankful for our little Riley!

My blogger friend, Meredith, hosted a nail polish swap! She has done a few scarf swaps that I have been a part of and these things are just so much fun!

I sent this little bottle to my swap partner, Tricia! She told me she LOVED anything that sparkles! Who knew that one just like this had just recently bit the dust over at her house! So glad I could replace it for her, hehe!

This is the one she sent me, it is called, Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede! It has a suede look and feel to it, it is not shiny like normal nail polish...I love that! I put it on my nails and toe nails the day I got it! It is fun!

1 Year Old!!!

My sweet, sweet Zeke is one year old today. I can't believe it. His babyhood has been the easiest for me so far! Not because he was my easiest baby, if you have ever met Z, you know he is crazy! Rather, because of the grace of God! I have learned a lot in my almost 5 years as a mom and learned that there are seasons, or phases, and they will pass! I have learned to take things one day at a time, I have learned a lot about patience and unconditional love! I have learned how to function sanely on very little sleep! I am so thankful that the Lord has given me opportunities to learn these things. I still mess up and have those "parent fail" moments, but I have also learned how to forgive myself and be able to move on instead of feel like I have screwed my kids up for life because of that one failing moment.

This year flew by! I can't even believe that one year ago today, I was just having my sweet boy! I can't believe this baby... is already this baby... He has grown and changed so much!
He is still a mama's boy! I love it...most of the time! He is obsessed with spoons, socks (not on his feet, either in his mouth or carrying them around), balls, and dogs! He says some words! He can say, ball, dog, mama, more (sounds a lot like mama though!), Aydia (Aya or Eya), Riley (Yaya), Dada, Uh-oh, no, yeah, hey, bye bye (though he has only actually said this once, he usually just waves!), ow, and oh! He dances when there is music and can give high fives!

We had his first birthday party last night with my in-laws! It was fun! We had pizza, one of his favorites and of course, cake! He was not interested in opening the gifts at all, he much preferred the balloons! Here are some pictures!

SNOW in Dallas!

We actually had snow here in Texas, like real snow! I grew up in Colorado, so playing in the snow during the winter was an every day thing for me and my sisters! I have a lot of great memories of playing out in the snow, making snow angels, building forts, attempting to build igloo's, making "snow seats", using real snow in our snow cone machine, lots of good memories! It was so much fun playing with my own children in the snow, I had forgotten how fun it can be! Some of my memories of snow growing up, are not that great (getting stuck on the road and having to shovel our car out in the middle of a blizzard while having to pee, shoveling the walk before school...several times because it is still snowing while you are shoveling, getting pelted in the face with snowballs...OUCH!, falling face first into the snow, slipping on ice and hurting your bum...you know, stuff like that!), so it was nice to be able to put a good name to the snow again with my kids!

Zeke's first time in the snow! He didn't so much like sitting in it or touching it, but he liked for us to hold him and to watch the girls play!

Andes Mint Cookies...Amazingness!

If you like chocolate and Andes mints, you will LOVE these cookies...they are amazing! The recipe is at the bottom of the post! ENJOY!!!

This is after you have melted the chocolate, brown sugar, butter and added your eggs!

Add your dry goods!

Let the dough refrigerate for an hour.

Pop them in the oven.

Set your timer for 8-10 minutes.

Take the wrappers off of your Andes mints.

Take them out of the oven!

Stick an Andes mint on there...

push it in to the cookie with your finger...

and swirl it with a spoon...

Once the chocolate hardens, it looks like this!

YUM!

Here is the recipe I used!

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
36 chocolate mint wafer candies
Directions

In a large pan over low heat, cook butter, sugar and water until butter is melted. Add chocolate chips and stir until partially melted. Remove from heat and continue to stir until chocolate is completely melted. Pour into a large bowl and let stand 10 minutes to cool off slightly.
At high speed, beat in eggs, one at a time into chocolate mixture. Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients, beating until blended. Chill dough about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Roll dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. While cookies are baking unwrap mints and divide each in half. When cookies are brought out of the oven, put 1/2 mint on top of each cookie. Let the mint sit for up to 5 minutes until melted, then spread the mint on top of the cookie. Eat and enjoy!

My sister-in-law, Emily, got married! She had a sweet, little, family wedding at her Aunt Carol's house! It was perfect!
The man she married, Todd, is a firefighter and actually works with Josh, my husband! He is a really great guy, and we are excited to welcome him into the family!

We took some family pictures, mainly to send out for a Christmas card, but also, just because we were due for some new ones! Since we added a new guy to our family this year, and he doesn't have a single picture up in our house...oops! We still love you Zeke! I actually have not redone our pictures in a few years, I am pretty behind! Hopefully once life settles down a bit after the holiday's, I can get some of these lovely pictures up around the house!

This year, I plan on using Shutterfly for our Christmas cards! I am really excited about all the super cute options they have for Christmas! I think I am going to have a hard time making my final decision! Here are a few of my favorites!

I love the gray base color with the splashes of color in the lights and wording! I love that it is pretty simple, yet still has some color!

I am LOVING the modern trees on this one...and those polka dots, how adorable!

Ok, this one would be really fun if you have kids, especially young kids! I feel like every year, our kids are changing so much and we could just sum up their little personality for that year right under their picture!

They also have a lot of fun invitations for that special holiday party, or that super fun Cookie Swap!

Cute, right?! I partly want to plan a cookie swap just so I can use these super cute invitations! Hehe!

Shutterfly also has an option to create your own calendar using your own photos for each month! How fun is that...you could do pictures of the person/people that have birthdays in each month! I know it would make my girls really happy to see their faces on the calendar during their birthday month!

Random Fall Happenings!

Fall is such a busy time for us, so sorry the blogging has been so lame! Between fall activities, finally being able to go outside because it isn't 100+ degrees, birthday's, school, holiday's, I seem to be struggling to find time to do things...not just blogging, but cleaning the house, doing the laundry, dishes, those sorts of things too! Blogging gets a major backseat and seems to only get done once everything else is done, so since my dishes are washing, here you are...a totally random blog of our most recent activities! Enjoy! Josh has had a lot of Pipe and Drum performances, so I got a pic of him in his outfit! I think he looks pretty cute!

Scarf Swap!

I participated in the second annual scarf swap held here! My swap partner, Roxanne, did an AWESOME job at picking out the perfect scarf for me! Turns out, I had previously seen this exact scarf and almost bought it for myself! Way to go Roxanne! Also turns out, I had put the same scarf in my cart to get her and then last minute changed my mind! Haha, how funny would that have been! I forgot to take a picture of the one I got her, but it was blue with green flowery things on it!

I was so excited to see that Roxanne was my scarf swap partner, I had started reading her blog not that long ago and think she seems super sweet and funny! She has two precious little girls, about the same age apart as my girls (a yearish!)! Turns out, we live pretty close to each other and have talked about maybe having lunch somewhere soon! How fun would that be to turn a blog friend into a real friend! Let's definitely get together soon, Roxanne...hint, hint!

Zeke at 7 months!

Zeke is 7 months old today! He has slowed down on his weight...praise Jesus, I was starting to think I was going to be carrying around a 30 lb 1 year old! Haha! He is 20 lbs, his height and weight have finally caught up to each other! He is wearing 12 month clothes. He can give kisses, wave, sit up, he gets on his hands and knees, he rolls over a lot now (he had only rolled over twice at his 6 month birthday...lazy boy!). He still loves his mama, definitely has an attachment to me! He still won't take a bottle and is not too interested in foods...more on that below! He loves to play with toys, especially if his sisters will play with him! He LOVES his sisters! He gets so excited when he sees them! He does not like to be left in the nursery...he freaks out. Last week, I left him in there and heard him screaming all the way in the auditorium...he seriously freaks out! He is crazy, but we love him so much!

Pretty much, the only way to get Zeke to eat something, is to just give it to him and let him go for it. He Hates baby food, he will only eat something if it is either in the form it comes in, or in small chunks! Crazy man! Here is a picture of him eating avocado's...of course, all by himself!

We got to watch our friends girls a few weeks ago so they could go out for their anniversary! Zeke is in love with little Bailey B! I think she is pretty fond of him too! They always get so excited when they see each other, it is really cute! Her mom and I went to Target the other day, and actually got asked if they were twins! Hehe!

We want to teach our girls responsibility. We thought that a good way to do this was to get them their own pet that they were in charge of taking care of. We decided that fish were a pretty safe way to go! We took them to Pets Mart, let them pick out a plant and one more thing to put in the bowl for their fish, then they got to pick out their own fish! Riley named hers Josie and Aydia named hers Chloe! Did I mention they are MALE beta fish, haha! They didn't want to name them boy names! So far, our fish have remained fed and loved...as much as you can show love to a fish in a fish bowl!

Zeke is 5 months old! He is such a big boy! At his 4 month check-up, he weighed in at 19.2 lbs! 99th percentile! I love it! He has 2 older sisters he needs to protect, so he has got to be big! He loves his momma! He is really attached to me, it is pretty sweet (yet challenging at times as well!). He loves to laugh at his sisters, they make him laugh a lot, it is really cute! He has just started reaching out towards people if he wants them to pick him up. He enjoys the exersaucer, but only for about 10 minutes at a time. He screams like a crazy man when he is tired, or if I am not holding him, other than that, he is a pretty content little guy. If he could just be held all the time, I don't know that that boy would ever cry! He is not much of a talker, his sisters would talk and coo like crazy when they were babies, but he is pretty quiet! His Pop noticed that he doesn't blink very much, kind of weird, but it is true! He LOVES to be outside and especially loves to go on walks outside in the stroller. I have tried to start him on baby foods, but he is not very interested. He gets pretty upset when I try to feed them to him. He still hates the car, the crazy man screaming comes in when we are in the car (that should be fun on our road trip to CO next week!). He has one tooth on the bottom and one more coming in! He LOVES water, bath, swimming, drinking, loves it! He is such a sweet little baby, I love him!

Aydia is 3 years old! She is goofy! She loves to laugh and make people laugh! She has recently started "making fun" of people...she doesn't know she is doing it, she is just trying to make people laugh! She is very sensitive. She does not like to be in trouble. She is very cautious. She likes to sit on the edge of the pool and gets very nervous if you take her out in the pool...she wants to be brave though. She likes, movies, doing flip overs (summer saults), play dough, painting, drawing, painting her nails, chapstick, picking out her own clothes (she does not like putting them on though and they NEVER match! (I love that!)), and baking with mom! She also likes, talking to Zeke and playing with him, playing outside, splashing in puddles, wearing 2 different shoes, and gum! She is sweet and such a little goofball, I love her!

Riley is 4 years old! She loves to climb on things, anything...literally, anything and everything. She is very sensitive. She does not like people to be upset with her, or to make people upset. She is a sweetheart. She says she is never going to get married and that she is going to live with us forever. She loves weddings, gum, chocolate, dessert, movies, everything girly (especially dresses and shoes), chapstick, painted nails, and ponytails. Yet, she also loves, dirt, sand, rolly polly's (she even gathered a bunch of them and put them in a little tupperware and had a little rolly polly farm), lizards, and washing the car. She is very helpful. She likes to help with dishes, laundry, and of course, Zeke! She is silly! She makes up her own jokes! She remembers her dreams. She is very, very smart. She loves to swim, she is a little fish. She just started jumping in off the side...she is my adventurous child. I love her!

Zeke, you had your 2 month appointment last week! You are 14.6 lbs! You are off the charts in your weight, you love to eat! You are short, chubby, and have a little head (you get that small head from me!). You are so much fun right now! You smile all the time! You smile and me, dad, and your sisters the most! You talk a lot! It is adorable! You always smile and talk to these crosses I have hanging above our bed...I am not sure why, but you love them! You stare at curtains and fans! You are a good sleeper. You have slept from 9 or 10, until 4 or 5 the last 4 nights in a row, and then go right back to sleep until 7 or 8! You nap a lot during the day as long as we are home. When we are out, you want to be awake and see what is going on! You really only cry if you are tired or need to burp or if we put you down! You love to be held! Even when you are hungry, you are starting to just get fussy and kind of look at me with an upset face and talk to me! It is like you are saying, "Mom, I am so hungry, feed me already!" Oh, you cry...actually scream (that is the red faced scream you will see in the picture below) when you are in your car seat...you hate it, unless we are moving, but as soon as we stop, you are screaming, even if we are just stopped at a light! You are very loved!

Well, not only do I have a 4 year old, but I now have a 3 year old too! If you don't know, my girls are 1 year and 8 days apart! It makes for some crazy times, but also some really great times! Today, Aydia turns 3! I seriously can't believe it. I always feel like once kids hit 3, they grow up a bunch, just in one day! I don't have toddlers anymore, I have preschoolers! Aydia, she is becoming such a sweetheart. She is very sensitive, she will cry pretty much anytime you tell her no or don't do that. She is very cautious and gets overwhelmed with new people/situations. I noticed this at a very young age...4 months old. We went to an outside engagement party and there were TONS of people there...she screamed her head off for a couple of hours. She was inconsolable. I took her inside to a quiet room, alone, and she just cried and cried...poor baby. Ever since then, if we are at a new place or around new people, she is super shy and clings to anyone she knows. Once she opens up though, she is quite the talker! She talks non-stop! Anything that comes into her brain, immediately comes out her mouth...she even talks in her sleep! She is the goofiest little girl, I love that about her! She is always making goofy faces or saying that goofiest things! She loves people to laugh, and she loves to be loved. She can tell the people that take time to talk to her and will talk about it forever, she always, says, "they like me!" She is really loving. She loves to give hugs and kisses and is always telling us that she loves us! Here are some pictures of my little, sensitive, sweet, goofy girl!

Well, Riley is 4! I seriously can't believe it. I have a 4 year old, that makes me feel old! I have so enjoyed being able to be the mother of Riley for the last 4 years! She is great! These days, Riley is loving acting like a little mommy. Since we have had her baby brother 7 weeks ago, she sure has taken on a little mommy role, with both him and Aydia! It is more ok with Zeke than it is Aydia! She is quite responsible and remembers everything. Literally, I can ask her to remind me of something later, and she will! She loves people and is very social. She loves to be with her friends and family! She can be quite hard headed, yet sensitive a lot of the time too! I really enjoy her age. She is full of energy. She climbs and jumps all the time. She would rather run than walk! I remember when she was 9 months old, she started walking, the next week, she was running! Although, I have to say, she doesn't run away from me, she is pretty good about staying with me when we are out places...must be that responsible side to her! She has learned to reason very well...too well sometimes! She loves anything girly...flowers, pink and purple, princess everything, dresses and skirts (the most girly ones you can find), make-up, seriously, anything girly! She is obsessed with weddings lately. She talks about getting married one day, and asks questions about our wedding. She looks at our wedding book all the time and asks me to wear my hair like that again one day! She also talks about having babies. She says she wants a baby when she is older, and she says I can name her baby for her because I like to name babies...I am not sure where she came up with that! I told her that if her and her husband decide they want me to name their baby, I will...she said, no, you can just name my baby! She loves to color coordinate her outfits...for example, if you wear pink pants, you must wear a pink shirt, and pink shoes! She is wonderful! Happy 4th Birthday, Riley!

Life with 3 kids...

Well, as you can tell by my lack of blogging, life with 3 kids is BUSY!!! Well, especially life with 3 kids under 4 (but only under 4 for a couple more weeks!). The girls are adjusting really well! We had a bit of an issue with Aydia for a couple of weeks, but she seems to be doing much better! They both love their brother to death! It is really cute to watch! Zeke is a good baby! He loves to be held and snuggled, which I wanted! He will probably be our last baby, so I really wanted a baby that wanted me to hold him and snuggle him a lot! Sometimes, it can be a bit challenging, like when I need to cook dinner, or wipe a poopy butt, or like right now as I am trying to blog and hold him AND make him happy at the same time! He does not like me to be doing anything else while I am holding him, he wants all the attention to be on me holding him! He is a pretty good sleeper, generally after he wakes up to eat at night, he goes back to sleep (last night was a different story!). He is gaining weight like a champ! He already weighs 11 lbs 15 oz!

Josh has finished paramedic school! This is a HUGE relief! I have mentioned before, but while he was in school, he was gone for his normal 24 hr shift, then went straight to school the next day until 4:30pm, so he was gone a lot! It will be nice to have him back!

My sister, Re and my childhood best friend, Emily came out to visit and meet Zeke, so there are some pictures of that. Josh's grandma, Madee also came up to meet him!

Sorry I have been out for a while, I have a good reason! We had a baby! I am going to share the birth story and then some pics! Friday and Saturday I felt like crap. I felt like I had the flu, but didn't have a fever. I knew it was pre-labor stuff going on. Sunday morning, I woke up feeling much better! I began having contractions, very mild, and not tim-eable around 9am. They lasted all day, but nothing serious or different than anything that I had had before in this pregnancy. Around 6 pm, we were at Josh's parents house for family dinner and I noticed that I was leaking some fluid. I called my midwife and she said it was probably just part of my mucus plug. I kept leaking for 2 hours and around 7:30, started having some pretty serious contractions. We decided to go ahead and head home because I was in pain. My contractions were not time-able then either, they were anywhere from 1-4 min apart. That was confusing me, but I went ahead and called my midwife again to tell her I was still leaking fluid. She said it was probably my water and to call when we wanted to head up to the hospital. We were actually already in the car and turned around to drop the girls back off at Josh's parents house. We went home to get the rest of our stuff and it hit hard. The contractions were out. of. control and really close together. We decided to go ahead and go to the hospital and called my midwife at 9:15 pm and said we were on our way. We got to the hospital at 9:45 pm, they checked me and I was 6 cm dilated. From then on, it got really intense, my contractions were 1-2 min apart. Josh was trying to fill up the pool and I was sitting on the birthing ball with my midwife next to me helping me through the contractions. It was probably around 10:40 pm when the contractions were pretty much non-stop and I began feeling the baby move down more. I did sort of freak out at that point, because I knew I was going to have to push him out (remember that I was induced and had epidurals with the girls!). I got dizzy and anxious, and was on the verge of tears, my midwife was awesome and helped me up onto the bed and had me lay on my side and rubbed my leg and helped me breathe so that I could calm down. About 5 or so min later, I felt it was time to push. She checked me and I was 10 cm and the baby was right there. I got off the bed and into the 1/2 full pool (Josh had some issues with the connections we had, so he was just standing there with the shower head trying to SLOWLY fill it up! He's great!) and began pushing. It was about 3 pushes later, and he was here! Let me tell you, that was painful. I would totally do it again though! Definitely the most pain I had ever experienced in my life, but it was worth it! Ezekiel Joshua Brock was born on Feb 7, at 10:53 pm. He was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 3/4 inches long (and they said he would be my smallest!). He had the cord wrapped around his neck, so he was really purple when he came out, scarily purple, but he was breathing and crying, so that was good. My midwife actually had to loosen the cord and let his body come through it because he was coming out so quickly she didn't have time to get it over his head. He didn't even have a misshapen head because of how quick he came out!

We have been having so much fun with him! The girls love him to pieces and he gets lots of kisses! He eats all. the. time! So far, he is a great sleeper, only wakes up to eat and then goes right back to sleep! He is wonderful! Here are some pics!

This is sort of a random post.

I can't wait to meet my baby. I wish he was ready to come...today! I am only 15 days away from my due date. I had contractions the other night for 6 hours...not very consistent, but they were quite intense...definitely reminded me of the pain of labor. I really hope they caused my body some progression. If they did, then they were worth it, if not, I will not be happy about that. I go to see my midwife in the morning. I am really hoping to hear her say that it will probably be sometime in the next week when we get to meet our baby! Josh is ready too! He gets to take 2 weeks off of work once Ezekiel comes and every day that he has to go to work, he doesn't want to, which isn't normal for him, he loves his job! We are all sooo ready! Last night, Riley leaned into my belly and said, "Baby Zeke, you need to come out tonight, you are taking too long!" It was cute!

I am realizing how helpful she is going to be when he comes. She already helps Aydia out so much. Riley can pretty much do everything for herself, so it is really helpful to me that she can help Aydia do things too! Things like, getting a snack for them, turning on the bathroom light for Aydia to potty, getting the drawers open in their dresser so they can get dressed (this sounds weird, but I got a dresser from a thrift store that is pretty old and the drawers are really difficult to open)! I am sure she is going to be super helpful to have around when this baby comes!

Aydia is learning a lot these days. We are trying to learn how to put our own clothes on, of course, she is potty trained now, that is amazing! Sometimes I think she is having a hard time with the transition of being independent. She seems to like to rely on people to do things for her and help her do things. We have had a bit of an attitude because of this lately. I really hope that it doesn't happen more when the baby comes. I am sure it will though. I guess I should start praying for patience now in order to deal with this!

Every day, I think about what this baby is going to look like. Who he is going to look like. I really hope he looks like his daddy! I picture him with brown hair and blue eyes (like his daddy!). Who knows though, we have every eye color and hair color in our extended family, so he could have any compilation of them! I wonder if he will look like Riley or Aydia!

That was so random and probably boring to most people, but these are the things going on in my head these days!

Wow, this pregnancy has FLOWN by! I am already 9 months pregnant...crazy! I had an appointment with my midwife yesterday, I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated! He has dropped, and she said he is on the smaller side, probably between 5 1/2-6 lbs right now! I am totally ok with a smaller baby, if you catch my drift! She also said that she thinks things are going to go pretty fast for me once they start, so we need to be in a bit of a hurry once full on labor starts! She also said it is unlikely that I will make it to my due date! I have thought he would come a couple weeks early this whole time, so that puts us out probably 2ish weeks! Ahhh, I can't wait! Today, I am going to finish putting all my bags and stuff in the car! Here is my 36 week picture!

My little Aydia!

You have become such a little sweetheart. You love to give hugs and kisses and tell everyone you love them...if someone has even been remotely in our lives, you love them and you will tell them!

You are always a mess! Your hair is wild (and beautiful at the same time!) and there is always something on your face!

You are now potty trained! You woke up one day and said, "I want to wear panties, I don't want to wear diapers anymore." So, on the panties went and you did great! I always knew the key with you was to wait until you told me you were ready! (Not to mention that the day before, you pooped in your diaper and I was telling you how tired I was of changing your poopy diapers and that you needed to start going on the potty and you said, "Well, I wouldn't poop in panties, I only would poop in diapers.")

You are such a goofball! You are always doing something silly or saying something so off the wall, you are in your own little world most of the time!

You love music and singing. In the car, you always ask me to turn the music up...and you usually know the song that is on the radio!

You are a bit of a pest. You are constantly poking at Riley and doing things to bother her.

You love Riley to death. You find a lot of comfort in her. If you get upset, you will go to her and tell her what is wrong. If we go to a park or mall play area, if you can't find Riley, you will come sit next to me until you find her.

You are not too keen on trying new things or doing things for yourself. I think if you don't feel confident that you know what you are doing, you just don't want to do it. For example, you will go potty by yourself and not even tell anyone that you are going or need to and you can put your own shirts on, but you don't want to put your pants on, and second guess where your legs go in your panties and usually end up getting pretty frustrated about it.

You are very sensitive. We have to watch how we say things to you because you will just break down and cry if we are a little harsh. At the same time, you can have quite the attitude and are testing out your, "No, I don't want to" phrases!

You get excited about everything! It is adorable! If we say we are going to the park, you start jumping up and down saying, "Yay, the park, I love the park! Are we going to the park? Did you say we are going to the park? I love the park, yay!" If I tell you that it is time for dinner, you start jumping up and down saying, "Yay, dinner, dinner, I love dinner! Did you say dinner to me? It's time for dinner!"

Going along with you getting excited about everything, at Christmas, you opened a gift that was in a box and you didn't even try to open the box, you just kept saying, "Yay, a box! I love this box!" It was so sweet! There was something better inside it, but you were so excited just to get a box!

We are so glad God gave you to us! We love you so much!

Ezekiel's room!

Well, it is finally finished! Here are the pictures of Ezekiel's room! This is the first nursery I have been able to decorate (yes, I do realize I have 2 other kids...we lived with people until just last Christmas!), so it was sooo much fun to be able to prepare a place for the baby, plus, I got to do a room for the girls too, which was also really fun!

I painted these canvas painting that are over his crib! (Yes, I realize the side is off the crib, and we will put it up when he is ready to sleep in there, but for now, that is Aydia's nap-place!)

I painted all the E's and the branch. My friend made the banner for my baby shower...I won't leave it up there forever, but it is just so cute, I had to put it somewhere for a while!

I am sure we will spend a lot of time in this chair in the middle of the night! At least it is really big and comfy!

8 months...

I am in my 8th month of pregnancy! I am SOOO glad it it almost over! I have decided that there is not really anything fun about the last 2 months of being pregnant! We are in the, pee every 5 seconds, contractions, baby running out of room, feeling so full you think you may explode, leg cramps, heartburn, exhaustion, yet can't really sleep phase! I know that all of this just means that it is getting closer to the day we get to meet our little Zeke! We have all of our baby gear, swing, car seat, all that good stuff now, so other than washing clothes and packing bags, we are ready! Next week I start going to my midwife every week! I can't believe we are there already! I got all my stuff in to have the water birth and just last night, we tested everything out to see how long it would take to get everything ready and make sure the pool didn't have any holes in it! I am also almost finished with the book my midwife gave me to help me prepare for a natural birth (since I have not done one before!), so I am really starting to feel ready and confident that I can do it! The last thing in his room to do is to hang 2 shelves, which we are doing tonight, so I will get the final pictures up soon! Here is my 32 week photo!

Over the last month, we have had 2 baby showers! We are so blessed with lots of family and friends that wanted to help us prepare for our little boy! We needed quite a bit of stuff, since we only have 2 girls, we had NO boy stuff! They were awesome and lots of fun! Who doesn't love a baby shower, right?!

This is one of the games we played...you put chocolate syrup in a diaper and put it on a doll. Then, you get in teams of 2 and you can only each use one hand. You have to change the baby's diaper, wipe them clean and all! It is fun!
